Dr. Aamr Arif Herekar
Dr. Aamr Arif Herekar completed his neurology residency in Albuquerque, New Mexico then completed sub-specializations in sleep medicine and epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. After moving to the Sun City, he began work on opening up his very own neurology center.
He first started in his sub-specialty where he used his expertise in epilepsy to open the First and Only Certified Level 3 Epilepsy center in the El Paso area.
This center is designed to help patients that do not respond to traditional epilepsy treatments and medications, we are proud to do the first epilepsy surgery that has ever has been done in this region making a patient seizure free.
We also offer other epilepsy therapies such as vagal nerve stimulation (VNS), deep brain stimulation (DBS) and responsive neurostimulation (RNS)
The center is also AASM certified for sleep studies and we test for hypersomnia, insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea.
With the growth of the Advanced Neurology Epilepsy and Sleep Center, Dr. Herekar saw multiple additional needs in neurology in the community, for which we started to offer emerging therapies that were previously hard to get in the area such as Botox for spasticity and migraines, memory testing, lumbar punctures, infusions for all neurological diseases, TMS therapy for depression and other conditions.
